FAQ's

Is it possible to frame a box canvas?

Yes, if you so desire, but you don't have to, as I always paint the sides of the canvas the same as the front, I carry the image around the sides and the sides are about 35-40mm or 1.5" deep.

Do you only paint in oil paint?

Whilst I love the texture of oils, I now only paint part of the image in this medium. Due to my process and the materials that I use, I paint the backgrounds in acrylic paint. This is for a number of reasons, primarily because Gold Leaf and oil paints do not mix well, so all of the background and anywhere I will add Gold or metallic leaf will be painted in acrylics. I love to paint and blend flesh tones in oils as the manner in which this medium works really suits my process in these areas

Do you do commissions?

Yes I will paint commissions, check out my details in the main menu, and if you have any further questions, then just drop me a line.

Do you sell prints?

Not normally, or not initially any way. If an original has been sold, then I would consider it.

How are the pieces packed?

I pack the pieces in individual cardboard boxes, specifically made for art shipments. The piece is supported internally with additional soft packing material to stop movement in transit. I have previously shipped from the UK to the west coast of the USA and Singapore, without issue.

How long will it take for you to ship a piece after ordering?

I always attempt to ship a piece within 3 days of receipt of order. I can usually do it in 2 days, but I allow for 3 just in case there is an issue. Commissions are obviously different due to the bespoke nature of each individual piece, check out my commissions page for info on the whole process.

Do you track deliveries?

Yes I always track my deliveries, as this protects both of us.

If there is anything else that you would like to know about what I do, or how I do it, then please drop me an email, and I will do my best to answer your question.

Cheers

Sterling Lee.
